Kincardine hospital auxiliary presents $35,000 to hospital foundation
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine hospital auxiliary held its Christmas meeting, Wednesday afternoon at the Best Western Plus Governor's Inn, Kincardine, with a traditional Christmas lunch buffet, attended by 42 members and Gift Shop volunteers.

Special guests this year were Paul Rosebush, president and chief executive officer of the health centre; Larry Allison, chairman of the health centre board of directors; Becky Fair, president of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation; and Lisa Storey, senior medical radiation technologist at the Kincardine hospital.

The auxiliary held several fund-raising projects this past year and, thanks to the continuous, outstanding community support, was excited to present a cheque for $35,000 to the hospital foundation, toward the purchase of the new Digital X-ray machine at the Kincardine hospital.

Fair thanked the auxiliary for its efforts and support in working toward the betterment of the local hospital and the community. She added that the auxiliary's contribution was priceless.

Storey brought greetings from the Kincardine hospital staff and expressed their great appreciation for the auxiliary's presence at the hospital. She mentioned the newly-relocated Gift Shop and thanked the auxiliary for its generous gift of money in support of the new Digital X-ray machine.

Rosebush was delighted to join the auxiliary in the celebration of its monumental gift of $35,000. He reported that the health centre board is well on the way with a sustainability plan for the Kincardine hospital. Stage 1, of a five-step, ministry-approved redevelopment plan, is nearly completed with installation of new boilers, new chillers and a back-up generator. He added that the auxiliary’s passion in its efforts to support the Kincardine hospital, is truly valued.

Allison spoke on behalf of the health centre board and said it is very aware of the auxiliary's amazing group of volunteers. He thanked the group for its hard work and appreciated its efforts in working together.

As her last duty as president, Carol Collins led the business part of the meeting with the various committees giving their reports. The Sunshine committee reported that two members, Joan Wood and Lesley Edwards, are leaving the area to move closer to their children. The auxiliary will truly miss these ladies.

The last item on the agenda was the ceremonial installation of the executive officers for 2018 which was conducted by Donna Mowry. The new president is Judy Lackner, past-president is Carol Collins, 1st Vice is Pat Emmerton, 2nd Vice is Lois Dwan, secretary is Betty Johnstone, treasurer is Wilma Manary, and press reporter is Liz Nurton.

The Kincardine hospital auxiliary sincerely appreciates all the support from its members, volunteers, the press, and especially, the community! Merry Christmas!
