Windy, cold night for Lucknow Santa Claus Parade
The temperature may have been above-zero Celsius, but the raw wind made it feel more like minus-10, as a crowd gathered in downtown Lucknow for the annual Santa Claus Parade, Friday night.
The Lucknow fire truck led the parade which began at Havelock Street and marched down the main street to the arena where Santa and Mrs. Claus visited with the children, and the Elves handed out treat bags.
Based on the theme, “Polar Express,” the parade included numerous business and organizational floats, horses, fall fair ambassadors and the Ontario Queen of the Furrow and Princess of the Furrow, and decorated scooters and four-wheelers. The firefighters gathered food bank donations along the parade route.
Santa and Mrs. Claus and their Elves waved to the crowd as they rode on the final float in the parade, and then went inside where it was much warmer to greet the many excited children.
