Huron-Kinloss recognizes seven employees for 25 years of service or more
A small crowd gathered in the Huron-Kinloss council chamber, Monday afternoon, to honour seven township employees for 25 years of service or more.
Mayor Mitch Twolan said the township recognizes the dedication and accomplishments made by its employees and is committed to honouring those individuals who contribute through their commitment, efforts and actions toward the success of the township and the community.
Recently, the township adopted an employee-recognition policy, with staff members acknowledged for professional commitment and at milestones throughout their careers. Employees who reach 25 years of service will be recognized by having their names engraved on the Quarter Century Club plaque which will be permanently displayed in the municipal office.
Monday's ceremony was to honour all past and current employees who have reached the milestone of 25 years of service, including the following:
- Gary Austin - 37 years with the public works department - retired in December, 2014
- Grant Collins - 25 years - currently the drainage superintendent
- George Dickieson - 26 years with the public works department
- Grant Gilchrist - 37 years with the public works department

"Thank you all for coming today and helping us acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our employees," said Twolan.
