Bervie Women's Institute holds Christmas meeting and pot luck luncheon

December 12, 2017

The Bervie Women’s Institute met Wednesday morning at the Bervie United Church for the Christmas meeting and pot luck luncheon.

President Sylvia Hasbury opened with a reading, “Christmas Comes Softly,” followed by the usual openings. A thank you was read from Dianne Cook of the Kincarf ACW for our assistance with the recent Bob White funeral reception. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to long-time member, Betty Jean White and her family.

Donation jars are being prepared for The Beef Way and Fincher’s, collecting for Lyme Disease research. In lieu of a gift exchange, a special collection was also taken for Lyme Disease research.

The Roll Call was answered with, “My favourite Christmas memory” and a stamped Christmas card. Mildred Griffith gave the sunshine report.

Convener Janice Hewitt presented the Christmas program, and everyone enjoyed a delicious pot luck lunch.

The next meeting is Jan. 3, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Bervie United Church, with the topic, “Canada 150 stories.”

Merry Christmas everyone and a Healthy and Happy 2018!
