Aibhlin (Avy) Mowle of Kincardine is quite an artist. And this past week, her artwork was used on a concert poster in Australia.

The connection between these two sides of the world happened in 2013 when Avy became Internet friends with Bonnie Ward of Melton, Australia, through the website "deviantart" and their mutual interest in Transformers.

Avy commented on one of Bonnie's pictures, and the friendship began.

In November, 2013, Avy posted her picture of her poppy and the "Lest We Forget" on deviantart.com.
Fast-forward to last fall, and Bonnie's mom, Jennie, who belongs to the Sunbury Choral Association of Victoria, Australia, was looking for a picture for the poster, promoting this year's Centenary Tribute to the 102,000 Australian and New Zealand (ANZAC) soldiers who fought in the First World War.

Bonnie contacted Avy about using the picture, with possible modifications, for the various posters and other promotional material for the concert. Jennie and Avy corresponded and, at the end of October, Avy sent the final images to Australia.

The ANZAC Centenary Tribute Production, "We Will Remember Them," was held Saturday evening, March 21, 2015, at Melton Community Hall, 232 High Street, Melton, Australia.

In a letter to the Mowle family, Bonnie said, "On behalf of my mother, the Sunbury Choral Association and myself, I want to say we have nothing but the highest regard for Avy and her contributions to our show! The show was a wonderful success and many commented about how much they loved Aibhlin's poppy design. It's been wonderful being able to collaborate despite being so far apart and, as always, I'm proud to call her my friend!"

"We are incredibly proud of Aibhlin," says her mother, Joan, "and we are grateful to the Sunbury Choral Association for giving her this amazing opportunity."
