Sullivan resigns from Bruce Telecom board, becomes interim president and CEO
Tom Sullivan of the Bruce Telecom board of directors, has resigned that position, and has been appointed the interim president and chief executive officer of the telecommunications company based in Kincardine.
Kincardine council met in closed session Wednesday night (Dec. 13), and upon returning to open session, approved a resolution to accept Sullivan's resignation as a member of the Bruce Telecom municipal service board, and as a director of Bruce Telecom Holdings Inc.
Council also agreed that this seat will be declared vacant, and staff was directed not to proceed with the process to fill the vacancy at this time.
Meanwhile, a press release from Bruce Telecom announced the appointment of Sullivan as interim president and chief executive officer, effective Dec. 14.
“We are fortunate to have an individual of Tom (Sullivan)’s calibre to lead Bruce Telecom on an interim basis while the board completes its search for a new CEO, and who has the skills to deliver the board’s vision," said board chairman Robert Watson.
Sullivan recently retired from the telecom industry after a 45-year career.
