Tiverton news
With all the road closures, it’s hard to find a reliable source for the most accurate updates. Recently, I checked three different websites to find out which roads were closed, Bayshore Broadcasting, Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) and the Weather Network. All sites were different so I E-mailed the Bruce County Roads website. This was the response:
“In the case of Bruce County, when the OPP closes a Bruce County road, the police will post the closure on their twitter page and we also show the closure on our mapping. We do not show closures for any roads that we do not have authority over. This includes MTO roads or lower-tier municipal roads. If a lower-tier municipal road closes, the OPP information should show that. We do provide a link to the MTO’s webpage where you can find the provincial highway closure information. We do not show closures of any roads outside of our county.
"Unfortunately, there is not one place to go to on the Internet to view all road conditions throughout the province but the OPP’s twitter page does list all closures. At any time, you can view the following webpage for Bruce County road conditions:
https://brucecounty.on.ca/road-conditions”
Hopefully, this will clear up the confusion for everyone.
Condolences to the family of Gordon Leslie Ribey who passed away Jan. 6. He was a well-known auctioneer and farmed for most of his life in Underwood.
