Is March going out like a lion? A number of folks in the area were with hydro Sunday evening after the snowstorm hit.
Last Monday, the Bruce United Church Women (UCW) Presbyterial Annual General Meeting was hosted by St. John’s UCW at Clifford. Rev. Jessica and Rev. Micol Cottrell spoke on their experience at the Greenbelt Festival in England. Our new President is Lynda MacKenzie and the ladies adopted a structure change with having only three gatherings per year - two Fellowship Days and the annual meeting.
Sympathy to the family of Clarence Cerson who passed away recently, and to Erlma Haldenby and the Percy family on the death of her sister, Marion Percy Jansen of Cochrane.
Mary Anne Kukoly visited with Frances and Bev Kingston in Chesley on Monday. The ladies caught up on 'old times' from Purple Grove Public School.
Wednesday, Mary Anne hosted lunch for some significant birthdays and good visiting.
Bill and Karen Martin of Kitchener visited with Morley and Deanna Scott Tuesday afternoon.
Friday, Mary Anne Kukoly hosted a Brunch and Card and Games Party for the community centre. Don’t know what the scores were but the visiting was great.
Saturday, the Bruce County Holstein Club barn tour took in the following locations: of Shenel Farms – Glen and Sheila Burgess; Chakelburg Holsteins – Chancy Burgess; Florbil Holsteins – Dan and Jeff Bross; and Hells-Lea Farms – Mike and Joan Haelzle of the Mildmay area. In spite of the cold, lots of folks turned out to see some great cows.
Be sure to check in with your 4-H leaders for start-up meetings for the season. Membership fees are $85 this year.
Jeff and Carmen Knapp visited with friends and family over the weekend, and Jamie and Crystal and Danica Farrell were over for lunch on Sunday at the home of Jim and Fran Farrell.
Joyce and John Farrell had June and Earl Elliott of RVilla, Nancy and Paul Greenwood of Goderich, and Karen, Leonard and Marsha Farrell, visiting on the weekend.
Get well wishes to those in our community who are not well. Brighter days are ahead!
