The company will be making a pitch for a facility near Ripley, with 160,000 square feet of cultivation, and 100 acres dedicated to hemp production, at the township council meeting Monday morning (Feb. 5).
Based in Toronto, Northern Roots Canada was founded to develop and produce the purest cannabis on Earth. Its vision is rooted in sustainability and technology.
The company hopes to develop tender opportunities for local contractors; offer a variety of employment opportunities, with highly-competitive salaries and benefits; utilize local services; and provide shuttle services for various residents.
At full capacity, it will employ about 100 workers over three shifts.
The full presentation will come before council at its committee-of-the-whole meeting Monday morning.
