Pair facing charges after break, enter and theft in Goderich
(GODERICH, ON) - Two Central Huron residents are facing charges of break, enter and theft, following a break-in that took place in Goderich this past weekend.
During the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb. 3, Huron County OPP officers received a call from a witness who observed someone climbing out of the donation bin collection area attached to the St. Vincent de Paul store located on MacEwan Street. The suspects were also spotted loading up their vehicle with bags of clothing and housewares that were taken from the donation bin.
Police immediately began to patrol for the suspect vehicle and a short while later, it was stopped in Clinton. The subsequent investigation and search of their vehicle determined the driver and her passenger were in possession of property that was stolen from the thrift store.
Accordingly, Stephanie YOUNG, 27, of Central Huron has been charged with Break, Enter to Commit the Indictable Offence of Theft; and Lindsay COURTNEY, 38, also of Central Huron, is facing charges of Break, Enter to Commit the Indictable Offence of Theft and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
Both have been released from custody with court appearances scheduled for March 12, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
