(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A traffic stop near Dungannon Tuesday afternoon, March 31, has led to several charges being laid against a young female driver from Exeter.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., a Huron County OPP officer stopped a Suzuki Vitara on Lucknow Line just north of Dungannon. The driver identified herself to the officer and upon checking the status of her driver’s licence, it was revealed her licence was currently suspended.
The driver was placed under arrest for this offence and a search incident to arrest was conducted. Upon searching the driver, officers located a quantity of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed the driver was currently serving a probation sentence and was failing to abide by a condition of her court recognizance.
As a result, 21-year-old Alecia KYLE of Exeter has been charged with Drive Under Suspension, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Breach of Probation and two Counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 13, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
