Bervie Women's Institute holds annual meeting

The Bervie Women’s Institute met at the Bervie United Church, April 1, with nine members giving a joke and paying their membership fees.

Elsie and Sylvia will attend the membership workshop in Chesley, April 30. Roots of Bruce is April 9-10 in Walkerton with Elsie and Sandra helping and taking pies on the 10th. 
The District Annual will be in Wiarton, May 28. Eileen Bradley will be remembered on her 95th birthday. 

A successful ROSE Program, “Easy on the Budget Meals,” was held March 31, with Melynda Henschel of The Beef Way as guest speaker. 
Sandra and Elsie will supply a door prize for the Heritage Show at Paisley, Aug. 14-16.  Sandra, Mildred and Elsie received an attendance gift. 

A delicious potluck meal was served at noon and then the ladies reconvened for the annual meeting. Reports were received from the chairpersons of financial, curator, international, sunshine, PRO and nomination committees. 

The Bervie W.I. had a busy year. The bylaws were read and amended. Mildred Griffith installed the officers which were similar to last year. Donations will be made to Pennies for Friendship, Water for All ACWW, Women Feed the World, Erland Lee Memorial and FWIO Disaster Relief Fund. 
A thank you is extended to the Bervie United Church for the use of the church basement for the ROSEe Program and this meeting. 

The next meeting will be at RVilla in Ripley, May 6, at 1:30 p.m., with a Mother’s Day theme.
