Kincardine skaters shine at Skate Spectacular Gala
Members of the Kincardine Skating Club had a chance to demonstrate how much they had achieved in the past year during the annual Skate Spectacular Gala, held Friday evening, Feb. 23, at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine.
Julie Brownrigg-Hayes opened the show with her StarSkate Solo, followed by the Shooting Stars group in “Princesses Just Wanna Have Fun.”
Louisa Matheson performed her StarSkate Solo, as did Brianna Clifford. Then some brave Skater Dads took to the ice with their daughters to perform “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better!”
Jenna Ostrowski and Juliette McDougall were “Supergirls;” Aryn Lahey and Adele Freeman skated their solos; the CanSkate group performed to “Teddy Bears' Picnic;” Learn to Skate to “Don't Worry, Be Happy;” and solos were performed by Cameron Kuntz and Alison Clarke.
The Primary Synchro team performed “Synchro Swizzle, followed by solos from Mikaela Hackett and Cloee Rivet. The PreStar group skated to “Ice, Ice Baby;” Abigail Lange skated her solo; and the skating club's future hockey stars performed “The Good Old Hockey Game.”
Special Olympics medallist Rosie Laidler skated her interpretive solo, and William Luhowy gave a solo showcase to “Polar Express.”
The Primary StarSkate group performed to “Wipeout!” followed by the grand finale to “Moves Like Jagger,” as the crowd erupted in applause!
