South Bruce OPP have busy week, with impaired drivers, thefts, accidents
FEMALE ARRESTED AT DISTURBANCE
(KINCARDINE, ON) - March 4, at 8:01 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a disturbance at the Tim Horton's located along Durham Street in Kincardine.
Officers arrived to find an intoxicated female was involved. Thirty-six-year-old Cindy LOEWEN of Kitchener was arrested and charged for being intoxicated in public.
IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT
(BRANT TWP, ON) - March 4, at 2:34 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol, conducted a vehicle stop along Sideroad 30 north in Brant Township.
The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Thirty-five-year-old Leah CLEMENTE of Mildmay was charged with impaired driving and operate over-80 milligrams. She is scheduled to appear in court March 21, to answer to the charges.
OPEN ALCOHOL FOUND AT TRAFFIC STOP
(GREENOCK TWP, ON) - March 3, at 7:40 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol, stopped a vehicle on Bruce County Road 15 in Greenock Township.
The officer found open alcohol in the vehicle. Thirty-year-old Jonathan THOMPSON of Elderslie Township was charged with control of vehicle with open liquor.
POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN E-BIKE
(KINCARDINE, ON) - March 2, at 4:33 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft at a residence in the 300 block of Durham Street in Kincardine.
Sometime between 6 p.m. Feb. 26, and 8 a.m. Feb. 27, an orange-and-beige GEO E-Bike was taken. The value of the stolen E-Bike is estimated to be $1,500.
OPEN LIQUOR FOUND AT TRAFFIC STOP
(BRANT TWP, ON) - March 2, at 8:47 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol, stopped a vehicle along Highway 9 in Brant Township.
The officer found open liquor inside. The driver, 47-year-old Jamie JARVIS of West Grey Township, was charged for control of a vehicle with open liquor, and improper number plate.
DRIVER CHARGED AFTER TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – Feb. 23, at 3:47 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 9 and Bruce County Road 4 in Greenock Township.
Officers arrived with Bruce County Paramedics to find that a transport truck had collided with a pick-up truck which was crossing the highway. The driver of the pick-up, 65-year-old William DUFTON of Bruce Township, was charged with fail to yield. He received treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
DRIVER INJURED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
(BRANT TWP, ON) – Feb. 28, at 9:40 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash along Bruce County Road 4 in Brant Township.
Officers arrived with Bruce County Paramedics to find that one of the vehicles had turned onto Bruce County Road 4 in the path of the other vehicle. Sixty-six-year-old Henno KALMES of Holland Township was charged with turn not in safety. The other driver, a 17-year-old of Huron-Kinloss Township, had non-life-threatening injuries assessed at a local hospital.
