Mel McGuigan of Inverhuron dies at the age of 80
Melbourne “Mel” John Gerald Jerome Haggin McGuigan of Inverhuron, died peacefully at his home, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the age of 80.

Loving partner of Jeanne Morris for 33 years.

Cherished forever by his son, Mel Junior; stepdaughter, Kelly (Jamie), and stepson, Trevor (Zoe).

Very much loved by his grandchildren, Kailey, Lauren, Josie, Jackson and Leo.

Loving uncle of Paula, Marion and Mark.

Predeceased by his daughter, Gina; and sister, Marlene.

Mel was a long-time member of the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce, and received the lifetime achievement award from that organization in 2009.

He was a member of the Inverhuron and District Ratepayers' Association, and was a hard-working, dedicated member of his community.

Mel was loved by so many, and will be sadly missed by friends and family.

Two separate events, a Catholic mass and a celebration of life for a fine Irish gentleman, will take place at a later date. Both events will be held in Kincardine and posted in the local press.

A special thank you to Dr. David Blecher for his excellent care and kindness, the South Bruce OPP, and the Kincardine Fire Department.

Memorial donations to Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
