Local artists conduct acrylic paint-pouring workshop
A dozen people learned about acrylic paint-pouring at a workshop, conducted by Kincardine artists Pat Guay and Donna Taylor, in the Scougall Gallery at the Kincardine Arts Centre, April 28.
The time-consuming portion of the exercise is mixing the paint with latex extruder until it is the consistency of cream. Then you pour the paint across the canvas and move the canvas back and forth until it is covered in a beautiful, colourful design.
Guay and Taylor, members of the Victoria Park Gallery, also located in the arts centre in downtown Kincardine, began using this technique last fall after learning about it on-line. Now, they are teaching it to others.
