Presbyterian Church sponsors Kincardine Knox Pipers soccer team
Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine, has scored a major goal by sponsoring a local minor soccer team.
For the second year in a row, the church is sponsoring an Under-10 soccer team, the “Knox Pipers.” Last year, the church's team was the “Knox Kickers.”
“Community service is one of the three pillars of our church,” said Mike Chreptyk of the board of managers. “The other two are worshipping God and following Jesus. Supporting the youth in our community is part of that.”
The church also funds work in Malawi, hosts the Moms and Tots program, and is a strong supporter of Camp Kintail, located about a half-hour south of Kincardine, along the Lake Huron shoreline.
In fact, this year, the church is sponsoring a free bus service, from Kincardine to Camp Kintail, for the Aug. 7-10 Day Camp for children ages seven to 10. To register for the free bus – with pick-up and drop-off at Knox Church, Kincardine – contact the church office at 519-396-2311, open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to Noon.
