Men of Grey and Bruce counties are once again being invited to put on a pair of women’s heels for charity.
The third annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®” fund-raiser is coming soon! Bruce County walkers will take the pledge Sunday, May 24, at the Queen’s Bar and Grill in Port Elgin, while walkers in Owen Sound will step into their heels on Sunday, May 31, at Harrison Park.
The proceeds from ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®" will benefit the shelters in the county where the event takes place. The Port Elgin event will support the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, and the Owen Sound event will support The Women’s Centre Grey and Bruce Inc. Last year, more than $20,000 was raised to benefit the two shelters.
This high-profile fund-raiser has been “walking” all over North America. Men will champion to end woman abuse and sexual violence by walking the walk and talking the talk, and by asking friends, family, co-workers and workplaces to sponsor them through pledges.
Organizers seek community-minded men who are brave enough to walk a mile in a pair of women’s high heels to bring awareness to the need to end violence against women. This is a great venue to challenge another workplace in your area. The shoes are supplied, and it is a fun family day for all.
Will you step into heels and take the pledge to end violence against women?
