Open houses held at Ainsdale and Somerhill on the weekend
Golfers are ready to get out on the greens and practise their swings. And both Ainsdale Golf Course and Somerhill Golf Club are gearing up for the season, following open house events on the weekend.
Somerhill, located on Highway 21 between Kincardine and Tiverton, welcomed a good crowd Friday night. While the course is not yet open, the greens are cleaning up nicely, says owner/operator Brad Mackay. To find out when the course will be open, follow Somerhill on Facebook at

Saturday afternoon, Ainsdale, located just west of Highway 21, south of Kincardine, opened its doors to the public for the annual open house. The course is now open, including all 18 holes and the driving range, but without power carts yet. The greens are so good, it's as if winter never happened, say owners/operators Allan and Kathy Mackay.

At both open houses, people enjoyed a meet-and-greet with the staff and owners, as well as appetizers, registration, information and prizes.
