South Bruce OPP report speeder; alcohol charge; and thefts

DISQUALIFIED DRIVER CAUGHT SPEEDING
 

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) – April 9, at 11:35 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Highway 9 in Kincardine Township, noted a red Pontiac G5 moving at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle speed was found to be more than 110 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. It was stopped and the driver was found to have a disqualified driver’s licence. Fifty-seven-year-old James McDONALD of Brockton has been charged with drive while disqualified, drive while under suspension, speeding, and drive with liquor readily available. He is scheduled to appear in court May 11, to answer to the charges.

TRAILER AND TWO LICENCE PLATES STOLEN
 

(BRANT TWP, ON) – April 10, at 5:06 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft from Huron Tractor located along Durham Road in Brant Township. 

Sometime between 5 p.m. April 9, and 5 p.m. April 10, a 2015 Millroad 20-foot aluminum trailer with red mounted ramps, Licence plate No. H9775K and Licence plate No. M8098D, were taken. The value of the stolen trailer is estimated at $9,500.
 

LIQUOR TICKET SERVED AT RIDE CHECK
 

(WALKERTON, ON) – April 11, at 2:30 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting RIDE check on McGivern Street in Walkerton, when a silver Chevrolet Cruze was stopped. 

Officers found open alcohol in the vehicle. A 19-year-old man of the Municipality of South Bruce was charged with open alcohol other than residence.

POLICE INVESTIGATING ARENA BREAK-IN
 

(MILDMAY, ON) – April 11, at 12:53 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-in at the Mildmay Arena. 

Sometime between 12 p.m. April 10. and 12 p.m. April 11, entry was forcibly gained through a window. No stolen items have been reported at this time. There is no estimate available on the cost of repairs.
 

POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN ATV
 

(WALKERTON, ON) – April 12, at 11:24 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of the theft of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) from a residence along Alma Street in Walkerton. 

Sometime between 12 a.m. April 4, and 11 a.m. April 12, 2015, a green 1998 Polaris W98 ATV, Licence No. 6BD50, was taken. The ATV has a “2-up” seat and a winch with red tether strap.  There is no estimate on the value at this time.
