More concerns about Browns Hill Bridge
To the Editor:
RE: “Kincardine selects Queen Street Bridge over Concession 5 bridge for grant bid”
Contrary to Kincardine mayor Anne Eadie's statement, most people do not use Highway 9 to go to the landfill.
They go out the B-line and straight up the 5
th Concession, so when something blows off their trailer, they can stop safely and pick it up and not have to worry about stopping in the traffic on Highways 9 or 21.
It will be some time before the municipality gets a better opportunity for grant money. Seventeen per cent on the Browns Hill Bridge could easily be covered by your dividend from the “red-light district.”
Councillor Randy Roppel's comment that there is only a farm on either side of the bridge is true, to a degree. However, a lot of those other farms are connected.
The 5th is a well-travelled road. Let’s keep it open.

Boy what a big mistake. You are putting people's lives at risk for money.
No, people don't use Highway 9 to get to the dump. They use the 5
th Concession. I go at least twice a week by the 5th and so do many other people. I go out the B-line to the fifth. Big inconvenience for contractors if this bridge is closed.
I really had hope for this new council. But like some things, it looks good on paper. Big disappointment in two guys that I voted for.
