Reader ashamed of unkempt beaches in Kincardine
To the Editor:
Shame on the Municipality of Kincardine!
It is now June and the beach areas look terrible!
There is a mound of mulch by the flag pole area at the bottom of Harbour Street, likely to beautify the gardens there for Canada Day, but the beaches need to be cleaned from the winter/spring debris.
Walking along the shoreline and seeing that debris everywhere is so disheartening.
The municipality needs to bring in machinery to remove the large logs and branches and clean up the beach areas.
We have the best sunsets and shoreline in Western Ontario, and this is what we want our tourists to see?
It's time to clean up the beaches, the garden areas by Macpherson Park and the Pavilion, and spread some mulch.
Let’s get our most valuable assets spruced up and looking their very best for the summer season.
It is not all up to volunteers to do this - put our tax dollars to a good and positive use!
