Readers upset with closure of Pine River Cheese factory
To the Editor:
RE: “Pine River Cheese ceasing production at end of September”

We are very sorry to see the Pine River Cheese factory close. It has been years since I’ve been to the store but I buy this cheese at the grocery store.

I will miss it very much. It just tastes so much better than the rest.

My daughter and her family stop at the store every time they go to Kincardine to visit her husband's family. So sorry this has happened.

Please tell your employees thank you for all the years of delicious cheese!

To the Editor:

It’s a sad day for a great cheese company.

We moved to the area (Listowel) just four years ago and came across Pine River Cheese on a country drive one day. It has been our favourite cheese ever since! We even spent half a day watching how curds were made.

My husband worked 29 years for a cheese company before retirement and he also thought these cheeses were superb!

Thanks, Pine River Cheese, we will miss you for sure!

To the Editor:

I am very sad that Pine River Cheese is closing operations.

This premier-tasting cheese is a staple in our home. It is very hard to find anything with this quality at the grocery store.

Thank you for the most excellent-tasting cheese for the past 30-plus years.

To the Editor:

I see Pine River Cheese products all over Ontario!

It's called a co-operative. Can't employees and shareholders join together with the public to keep it going?

To the Editor:

I am stunned by the news that Pine River Cheese is closing.

This will be a big loss to Kincardine and area

To the Editor:

We cannot imagine going to and from our cottage in Port Elgin and not stopping for all the cheese and other goodies in that wonderful store.

To the Editor:

We live in Wiarton but have close relatives in Sarnia. For 40 years, we have made it a point to shop at Pine River Cheese on our trips back and forth.

We are truly saddened to hear Pine River Cheese is closing.

To the Editor:

We are very disappointed to learn that the Pine River Cheese company is ceasing production at the end of September.

It makes the best cheese curds that our family has ever eaten!

What a shame.

Hopefully, this doesn't have to be a sign of the times.
