Local photographer has exhibit in Victoria Park Gallery through September

September 8, 2019

Luke McPherson has a passion for photography and likes to capture everyday moments in unique ways.

Now, he has his work on display at the Victoria Park Gallery, in downtown Kincardine, through the month of September.

The 24-year-old grew up in Culross Township, just northwest of Teeswater, and is currently studying at Sheridan College in Oakville to become an interaction designer.

Many of his pieces are taken on, or around, his parents' farm or in nearby towns. Various flora, fauna and farm equipment are given new life through the lens of his camera. He enjoys the challenge of taking everyday scenes and making them special.

McPherson began taking pictures when he took a photography class as an elective in high school, and has continued with it as a hobby for the past six years.

While this isn't the first time his work has been on display, it's the first time in an art gallery, and he is very excited that some of his favourite pieces are hanging, as the guest artist, at the Victoria Park Gallery.

His work has also been on exhibit at First Impressions in Kincardine, and at the 2019 Teeswater Homecoming.

The Victoria Park Gallery is located inside the Kincardine Arts Centre in downtown Kincardine, and is open Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Noon to 3 p.m. It is also open evenings for theatre productions and special events.
