The weather was vastly improved for the first meal night of the Ainsdale Ladies League. As it turned out, it was the best Tuesday weather of the season.
The "Drop-Off" Scramble format proved to be very popular with all the players. The prize table, sponsored by HuronTel, was adorned with a variety of goodies for the ladies.
The closest to the pin on No. 8 was awarded to team Anne Burton, Gail MacIntosh, Wendy Houghton and Edie Fotheringham.
The low score of six-under-par was recorded by team Maureen Peet, Deb Wright, Jeanette Barnes and Maureen Charette.
The score card draws saw team Debbie Pegg, Pat Emmerton Anne Rock and Muriel Cochrane; team Bonnie Ritchie, Colleen Douglas, Jackie Mitchell and Milvi Zuch; team Donna Murray, Barb Grubb, Norie Dickson and Jan Kelly; and team Deb Catto, Kim Catto, Beth Mimnagh and Marianne Irwin proceed to the prize table.
The evening continued with a beautifully-prepared, Italian-theme buffet dinner, homemade desserts and all the trimmings, ending with a social hour that was enjoyed by all!
SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
The Senior Men of Ainsdale enjoyed a sunny but breezy morning for their friendly competition Wednesday.
The four-man scramble saw a tight leader board with several teams within a couple of strokes of the lead.
First place was awarded to Steve Saxton, Garry Skelding, John Downs and Roy Douglas, after a seriously-contested putt-off. Second place went to Dick Ford, John Gauch, Bruce Sine and Harry Ferrier, with third place going to Murray Wardell, Brian Rhody, Steve MacEachern and Grant Fotheringham.
Congratulations to all the winners!
