More photos entered in “Where were during COVID-19?” contest

April 26, 2020

More photos have been submitted for the “Where were you during COVID-19?” contest.

These are photos taken while you are self-isolating, staying home, washing your hands, playing games with your children, looking bored – whatever is getting you through the day during this crisis.

If you are an essential service, and it is safe for you to do so, take photos of yourself at work and submit those as well.

Among this new set of photos, we have Cindy Faddah of Kincardine paddleboarding while practising social-distancing a couple of days before the beach in Kincardine was closed (March 27), due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rob and Sandy Liddle were in Hawaii when the virus hit and had to return home a week early.

Maureen, Lauren and Sarah Ross were busy picking up garbage on Earth Day (April 22).

Several people were out doing shoreline clean-up and trails clean-up on Earth Day (April 22).

The Ruthvens of Tiverton worked on Upper Lorne Beach, Red Cedar Lane and the Kuehner trails and creek area. The Ribeys and Devendorfs worked on the Trillium Court creek, and another family worked along the north side of the Kuehner bridge. Mason and Hudson Ruthven noted they picked up 17 bags left behind by dog owners who did not clean up after their animals.

Marlene Chornie said she loves the spin on this year's “Where’s Liz?” contest! She submitted a photo of her husband, Nick, who set up a small chipping course in their backyard to try and keep in practice for golf season; and one of their Bengal cats – “Barnum” and “Bailey” – practising “social-distancing.”

The contest runs until the end of May. All submissions will then be posted in a story June 1, and you can vote for your favourite photo until the end of June.

July 1, we will announce the winner. The photo with the most votes will win a $100 gift card to a local business of your choice; second prize is a $50 gift card to a local business; and third prize is a $25 gift card to a local business.
