Kincardine Peewee Kinucks down Saugeen Shores in Silver Stick action
The Kincardine Peewee Kinucks defeated the Saugeen Shores Storm, 5-3, at the Kincardine Regional Silver Stick hockey tournament, Saturday afternoon, at the Davidson Centre.
The two evenly-matched teams were tied at 2-2 midway in the third period, when Kincardine's Kaleb Smith scored to put the Kinucks ahead, but minutes later, the Storm tied the game at 3-3.
With just 21.4 seconds remaining, Kincardine scored the game-winner, and then with less than two seconds on the clock, the Kinucks added the insurance marker, to take the 5-3 victory.
Round-robin play continued Sunday and through to Monday morning, with quarter-finals and semi-finals running Monday afternoon. The finals will be held at the Davidson Centre Tuesday.
There are 53 teams competing for six divisional championships in Novice, Peewee and Bantam hockey.
