Kincardine Peewees are finalists at regional Silver Stick
The Kincardine Peewee Kinucks struck first but finished in second place against Penetang in the Kincardine Regional Silver Stick championship game, Tuesday afternoon, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
After a scoreless first period, Noah Swann put Kincardine up 1-0 late in the second. But midway in the third, Penetang tied it up and minutes later, scored again to make it a 2-1 game.
With just 51 seconds remaining, Penetang scored its third goal, followed by an empty-net marker, to take the 4-1 win.
Player of the game was Justin Lemesurier of the Penetang Flames.
Tournament director Ray Luinstra presented finalist medals to the Kinucks, and championship medals to the Flames.
Penetang now advances to the International Silver Stick finals in Forest, Jan. 9-11, 2015.
