Registration for 2016 Kincardine Women's Triathlon opens New Year's Day

Registration for the 2016 Kincardine Women's Triathlon opens New Year's Day (Jan. 1), 2016, at 10 a.m. (EST).

And if you want a spot in this race, get on-line as quickly as possible. The 2015 race registration sold out in less than an hour, with 450 women signed up.

The 16th annual event is slated to run Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 9 a.m., at Station Beach, Kincardine.


The triathlon includes a 350-metre swim, a 12-kilometre bike ride, and a three-kilometre run. Athletes can also compete in the duathlon which is a three-kilometre run, followed by a 12-kilometre bike ride, and another three-kilometre run.

Katie Peach of Oakville, a cottager at Point Clark, won the 2015 Kincardine Women's Triathlon, followed by Glenna Fraumeni of Toronto and Tina Perilli of Brantford. Lisa Wardell of Chatsworth won the duathlon, followed by Jessica Doerr of Kincardine and Kim Taylor of Walkerton.
