RE: “Readers upset with closure of Pine River Cheese factory”
Paul and I were sad to hear about the closing of Pine River Cheese.
Since we moved to London, it was nice to be able to buy it at some stores here, i.e. Giant Tiger.
I now know why it was on sale last week so I will have to go buy some.

So sad to see such an icon in the community close its doors forever.
One of my favourite memories from Seaforth Public School was visiting Pine River Cheese.
Farewell to one of the last real iconic businesses in Bruce County!

My husband used to pick up cheese for his whole family and friends every other week.
Plus, my family would stop in there on our way to and from our cottage.
Thank you, Pine River family, for your dedication toward making great cheese throughout the many years.
I'll really miss you!

So sorry to hear this.
I have been travelling Highway 21 to Stokes Bay for 70 years, and Pine River Cheese was always a measure of distance, about halfway way from Sarnia to Stokes Bay.
In July, I finally stopped to show my husband and we bought a two-pound package of old cheese – it was so good!
We will stop again for Thanksgiving.
Good luck.

Such sad news.
It’s unfortunate the government’s focus and millions of our dollars are spent supporting newspapers and businesses where they profit, while an iconic business such as Pine River Cheese gets no support.
While the politicians continue to “smile and say cheese”and have their pictures printed in these very papers they control using our dollars, we are left saying, “Where will we ever find the quality product and service of Pine River Cheese we have grown up with and enjoyed?”
I have not bought a newspaper in years, but for those who do enjoy reading the “skewed news” they have paid for twice, I will be on my “whey” out looking for a new brand of cheese to “skewer!”

We are so sorry to hear of the closing of the Pine River Cheese factory.
Our family was from Montreal but we had a cottage in Kincardine and used to order cheese on a regular basis, which was sent to Montreal and also out west where our older brother lived.
We continued to tell all our friends about Pine River Cheese and many of them began ordering from you as well. And this was over a period of many years.
Thank you for providing the most excellent old cheddar to our family and friends for all those years. We enjoyed it immensely.
Sincerely,
The Swan family
